#3 lot of handwaving and hysterics. The arsenic is naturally-occurring and in most groundwater. They filter it out, store, and dispose of it...not a secret. The subcontractors didn't fill out the proper info, twice, and they will be fined as well:

According to court records, Crystal Geyser created an "arsenic pond'' in a remote part of eastern California between Death Valley and the Sequoia National Forest and then didn't disclose that water pumped out of the pond and delivered to water treatment plants contained the poisonous heavy metal.

United Pumping Services, a City of Industry waste-hauling corporation, and United Storm Water, an Industry-based company providing environmental and lake draining services, were also charged in the 16-count indictment for violations that allegedly happened in March and May 2015. The contracted companies face trial in April in Los Angeles federal court.

The case focuses on the bottling plant's wastewater, not the safety or quality of Crystal Geyser's water, prosecutors said.

#4 Note too, that feds 'adjusted' the level of acceptable arsenic in water. Albuquerque always had it in the water. Then without any scientific evidence, lowered it forcing the city to spend millions on new filtering systems in their purification works. Now here you had a city with a good size population drinking under the old standards for over 50 years. Could they show any significant difference in its population's health vs one that was on the higher standard. No.

#5 My grandfather lived in Fallon, NV, where they also had naturally occurring arsenic in the water. He said because of that, nobody lived past 120

#9 EPA maximum arsenic level(MCL) used to be 50 parts ber billiion. Now the MCL is 10 parts per billion. Wastewater or other arsenic contaminated material needs to have a Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP)test performed to determine if the waste stream needs to have special handling or containment performed before it can be disposed.

I have been involved in two instances of going through this procedure before obtaining filter backwash water permits for water containing arsenic. It's not a big thing unless you avoid doing it.

#10 Related foreign content in bottled water: was killing time in scenic Concrete Washington waiting to begin the day's lawn mower racing festivities when a double-bottomed tanker truck pulled up to a standpipe and connected to it and began filling. The name of a local (and prominent and pretentious) water company was emblazoned on the tanks. Whilst waiting to fill, Joe Truck Driver decided to relieve himself and did; right on the stand pipe.
No more of that B/W for me.....
