#1 The Fed long long ago established the legal precedents for this by allowing illegal immigrants to collect most forms of public assistance via the States while permanently residing in the US, in effect turning these illegals into SEMI/QUASI-CITIZENS,RESIDENTS OF THE US.

The end of JIM CROW = US SEGREGATION made the above stronger in favor the illegals, NOT DE FACTO US CITIZENS-RESIDENTS.

#7 We have a family friend who immigrated legally from Guatemala and she is hopping mad about this. I thought she was gonna blow an aneurysm while telling us about her co-worker who is now filing for the first time and as you can get the tax credit retro-actively for 3 years is looking at a $17k windfall for breaking the law (splitting the 5 kids between herself and grandma's returns).

"Please tell me how this is right!" she kept asking - nobody had any good answers.
