#1 Russian military equipment is more than adequate to repress your own population, if that's what you've a mind to do: a T-55 is a formidable opponent to a cowed population. Put against a Western military that is well trained, well led and well equipped and it's a different story.

Actually, Russian equipment is perfectly adequate. In fact, for Arabs, it's a lot better than US equipment because Russian one requires a lot less TLC.

#2 I think the Israeli Navy will have spanking new ROEs which allow them to fire on any suspected emitter anywhere in the combat area. Period.

I assume the continuing Syrian ROE will include placing emitters in "hospitals", "schools", "milk factories", etc. etc. etc.
