WTF? What sort of focus groups and random surveys did AFP/Reuters/AP do to justify this assertion?

Note also the unwitting self-parody: it's been 11 whole days, and a vicious and barbaric terror war involving people clearly insane by any meaningful standard hasn't YET been squelched.

"Insurgents"? "Blitz"? Imagine the impact if the world were covered by organizations and individuals with the slightest bit of professionalism, insight, and minus the bizarrely inverted moral prisms.
