#2 the lawyers at DOJ will say that the dossier was verified as coming from Steele and that Steele had some documentation in the dossier and that at least one or two unimportant parts of the dossier were confirmed

#3 As I heard it they were confirmed via a media article which originated from Steele himself. Meaning he basically verified his own dossier.

Referred to in the intelligence community as "circular reporting." As his Lordship states at #2, DOJ will site truthful aspects of the dossier as justification for submission.

A good lie must contain some bits of truth.

Steele and the Ohr's were working for an intelligence agency or agencies.
