Many states have what is called a Property Bond.
The property is Seized/Forfeited, if the defendant fails to show. In NY its called a Secured Appearance Bond (Property-Defendant).

Keep in mind of the possible POLITICAL plan side to this Regime's obvious ran kangaroo court scenario. They could be setting up a way to hamper his Presidential Campaigning or the upcoming TV Biden/Trump Debate.

The Uber-Left Wing Democrat DA and/or Court could demand the restriction of Trump travels to the NYC or NY State area only.

If I'm reading this right, James is trying to place a lien on these assets and the matter is pending. It's the first of many steps.
