#3 If I were the Mullahs I'd be a lot more concerned about the number of tankers at Diego Garcia than the number of carriers in the gulf.

#4 Typical at sea turnover between CVs is a couple of days: gear personnel and face to face meetings. So even if 'no overlap' is scheduled, that 'turnover' should be good for additional puckerations....

It *IS* a scheduled relief and was preplanned, but the real kicker will be if there will be any overlap.

#10 Talked with a neighbor the other night. They were headed to CA to hug their young Marine goodbye. He is on the Richard Bonhomme, and I think it is still part of the Nimitz carrier group. They knew he was sailing on Monday.

He said he had been headed for Afghan, but had called last week, and said they were probably going to Iraq.

Funny part, I asked him how the new Marine (in almost a year, straight in from high school (his dream to be a Marine) was enjoying being a Marine.

He's had a hard time -- expected boot camp to be bad, but after that, well, wasn't as much "discipline" as he thought there would be! All smokin', drinkin' cussin' tatooin and roommate always has some chick in his bed!"

But, he's adapted, he now talks like all Marines! Embarrassing to his grandmother!

I sent a hug and words that he had lots of support back home. And not just from his family.
