#3 With what is provided here, it really does not pass the sniff test. I can't help but wonder if the Bureau actually checked to see if other gov't agencies may have been involved.

#5 I'd say LTC(Ret) Fondren certainly has some very shady friends along with PACOM and Pentagon assignment which provided excellent placement and access. He's holding, or probably held at least TS/SCI access which requires reporting of foreign contacts during periodic re-investigations. Either Fondren is sublimely nieve and stupid, or the bureau has stumbled onto someone elses project. Not really enough information provided here. Definately looks like he's got some splain'n to do.
