#1 Where do we start the comments to this "article"?

How about this - did the CNN staff on this story get their passports stamped when they entered Kansas?

This line sounds particularly, um, manufactured, ""There were always whispers," she says. "Out at Wal-Mart you hear, 'Oh, look at how they're dressed ... wonder where they're from, what they're doing here?' Especially if they weren't speaking English." Does that sound like a verbatim quote, or does it sound like what a CNN reporter thinks a verbatim quote from someone in Kansas should sound like?

Finally, of course, the headline - 47 percent of the US population under the age of 5 are a minority. I got news - 100% of the population under 5 is a minority - they're under 5. The rest of us are taking care of them.

Let's hope the NYT picks up on this, and further depresses their circulation by highlighting the irrelevant and obvious.

#3 No, no --- if they are under five they are minors. As for the rest, aren't we all Americans, except those here on valid visas, and illigal immigrants?
