#1 Jet pack has been around since the 50s? This is bigger version of the same and pants are being wet everywhere...

#2 M. Murcek, this is an early test object for a returnable second stage for the coming largest rocket ever. It is 9 meters wide. (most rockets max at 3.6m) It's 50 meters high and can carry >> more than 100 ton payload. No rocket has done that. Not even the Saturn V.
This is the first test hop of the stainless steel rocket. This one is missing the payload and leading cone area (hence the box of steel rolls at the top). When development is completed it should be able in passenger mode to carry 100 astronauts.
Not bad for a single stage.

#7 There has been discussion of that burning at NASAspaceflight dot com. No answers from SpaceX. Two major guesses are paint on some engine piping or small leaks in a preburner pipe.
