#7 "Georgette Mosbacher, U.S. ambassador to Poland, has made a similar criticism of Germany's reluctance to commit more financial resources to NATO.

"Poland meets its 2% of GDP spending obligation towards NATO. Germany does not. We would welcome American troops in Germany to come to Poland," she wrote on Twitter on Thursday."

US ambassadors have become dim bulbs. There are no "2% spending obligations to NATO". The 2% is a commitment to spend 2% of the national GDP on NATIONAL defense. "Defense" can mean anything you want it to mean btw.

And Grenell's "threat" is empty. Maybe a few thousand troops will be moved to Poland but the U.S. will not give up Ramstein, Landstuhl or Grafenwöhr. Just ask the Pentagon (as Mr Grenell should have done).

Btw Germany subsidizes U.S. presence with 600 million euros per year.
