#1 as of the past few hours the westward movement of Dorian has almost stopped

Good news for Florida since an approaching system will probably turn the storm NW, then N, then NE beginning tomorrow.

Bad news for the Bahamas. Probably there will be loss of life and, in addition, they will likely suffer property and infrastructure damage approaching, or even exceeding, 30% of there annual GDP.

#2 as of a few minutes ago Dorian is down to a Category 4, though on the highest rung of that category

it has moved west only about 10 miles in the past 12 hours; in the past hour there was a small jog to the north

#3 Last radar I've seen, the eye is sitting right over the western part of the island. Since I'm no meteorologist and sitting in a recliner in Arizona, hope that's good news for them.

#4 Me too, but a storm surge of 20ft + waves makes for bad news as it just spins and spins in place.
