#4 Donks should go along. If Trump is still in the WH come January and the seat is open, Sen. Cruz could be the next occupant. Do it before the election and it probably would not be him. (Though Thomas may give him the opportunity anyways after the election)

Also I have a hard time believing the tale that Ginsburg told her grand daughter that it was her wish that her replacement would be selected after the next President is installed

Well, that is not in the cards in this constitutional republic. That is up to procedures not to individual wishes.

#11 Cruz is a much better lawyer than he is a senator. He'd be a towering presence on the Court. In the Senate, he's ineffective, disliked, always vulnerable to being chucked out. Barely defeated the Micksican avid skateboarder.
