#1 "We would lose because we have stupid people in charge."

While I won't argue the latter (we do), the military is still very professional at most levels and would do their job very well despite bozos in charge. See WWI and Wilson for an example.

Bullets? Yes. We use a different caliber for assault rifles. Javelins? Maybe. Stingers? No. We don't even produce those anymore.

But, if we had to spin up production we would have a good 6 month delay before we could keep an up tempo on expenditures.

I would hope the bozos in charge would start up the warm production lines now, but I don't hold out much hope for that.
