#8 For fishing, am told that they use black powder collected from, say, fire crackers, using a discarded electric bulb with the filament housing carefully removed from its body. Fill and seal it watertight after connecting a loop of fine wire inside, leaving two very long strand oundside - detotate it underwater by just closing the circuit with a size 'D' 1.5 volts dry cell a safe distance away.
