#1 Back when I was about six years old (when dinosaurs roamed the Earth), I happened to see a Jane Wyman movie just before I had a spat with my mother. I was an uppity little snot in those days, and I declared, "I wish Jane Wyman was my mom, instead of you!"

Instead of giving me a well-deserved beating, Mom just said, "I hear she already has a little boy and he probably behaves a lot better than you!"

A couple of years ago, I had the chance to share this story with Jane Wyman's little boy himself, Mike Reagan. He said, "Your mom was wrong!"
We both laughed till we hurt.
