#1 We're not buying "Fog of War" here either, never did.

#2 No general or admiral will risk being hung out to dry for undertaking a mission-gone-wrong that the POTUS later disavows ordering, and instead blames on "loose cannons" or "rogue officers" exceeding their authority.
Yet we've already seen both a General and an Admiral pulled from the field.

#3 We have learned that this POTUS will throw anyone under the bus for his ends.

If Obama should win re-election, there will be a $hit-storm for 4 more years and the effects will be felt for years to come. He will inherit the mess in his crib that he created from his last four years.

#4 only the president can give the order for our military to cross a nation's border without that nation's permission.

I believe that's correct, and that the authority cannot be delegated. It would certainly explain why only in-country assets were engaged, but none from outside of Libya.

It also follows that it would've been prudent to first ask the Libyan government. It seems to me they probably would've said ok, considering that they characterized it as a terrorist attack from the start. I'd be interested to know if BHO made any attempt to obtain permission. Or if he just hoped for the best and went to bed, with an ambassador MIA.

Guess that's why Libyan officials kept the quick-reaction force at the Benghazi airport for three hours.

#6 Good point. Although, I was thinking of it more in terms of a heads-up than a request. Point is, there would be a record of it. I'd just like to know what, if any, actions BHO took. Now that State and CIA have released detailed timelines, the timeline of what HE did and said that night remains the most unclear.
