#3 When Europeans first encountered turkeys in the Americas they incorrectly identified the birds as a type of guineafowl (Numida meleagris), also known as a turkey-cock from its importation to Central Europe through Turkey, and the name of that country stuck as the name of the bird. The confusion is also reflected in the scientific name: meleagris is Greek for guinea-fowl.

The name given to a group of Turkeys is a rafter, although they are sometimes incorrectly referred to as a gobble or flock.
Funny story bout this term. As a kid, was eating breakfast at my dad's house in the country. Had an ice-rain overnight and a group of wild turkey was outside our window trying to flap onto the roof. After watching them get onto the roof and slide right back off for about 30 minutes dad says, "Well, they don't call them turkeys for nothin."

#6 I suspect the Mayor of Gothem Sweden is watching this case closely.

Batman is short for Batı Raman, it is Kurdish.

I think they have a case because people often mistake comic book characters for entire cities and the chance that the town is targeted by a super-villain by mistake has got to be worth a couple of million.
