#1 The loss in employee compensation resulting from the reduction in working hours (full-time to part-time) must be made up somehow. Just think of the increased revenues from federal and state tax withholding and the corresponding reduction of Obamacare subsidies.

#2 You could have a similar effect by moving 10 million low skilled illegals back to their point of origin. Fewer workers, higher pay. Too simple for those who lust for power.

#3 BTW, doesn't it all reek of central planning? What's the next 5 Year Plan on the agenda?

#4 Inflationary. Will reduce the value of saved cash & cash equivalents, and the price of debt. And who has the most debt? The government, of course, making this a way of taxing the wealthy conservatives without calling it a tax.

#9 While they are at it why not legislate the value of pi to be exactly 3.000...?

oH and reduce the Earth's gravity to be half of what it is now - Then everyone instantly weighs much less! What's not to like?

Pretty much the same thing...

#11 Cost of goods, services and food goes up 40%. Might as well make it $1 million an hour. Same effect. Cost of everything goes up by at least that much.

#13 Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., called the proposed minimum wage increase "long overdue, an important economic issue and a message to working families struggling paycheck to paycheck that we can help."

More like a payoff to the unions.

I wonder if anyone's explained to Dick what happens to prices (actual and relative) when the cost of labor is raised?

#16 Make the minimum wage the same as Congressional pay. Give everybody the same medical and retirement benefits as Congress, then everyone's happy. What's the problem?
