Why aren't there more secure voting systems in the richest, most tech savvy nation? Offline, hack-proof, just a box with keys to press. And voter lists with only registered citizens with valid biometric IDs? Officials come and check the box, the numbers fed directly into a districtwise database and the results updated.

The most chaotic, thoroughly inept democracy in the world conducts the largest election exercise of the world more securely. Maybe America should outsource its elections to the Indian Election Commission.
