#5 I lived in Raleigh during this hoax. The lacrosse players were lucky that their families had enough money to hire good lawyers. Also, Mike Nifong's behavior in prosecuting this case was so egregious that the governor appointed a special prosecutor to handle the case. Nifong was later disbarred for his conduct.
