#1 Any of you Rant-burgers out there know what they are doing with detainees? Do they go thru a court, or is like a catch and release where they throw em a drunk tank for a while and then let 'em out. I'm just wondering because you never hear about these thuggies being sentenced or anything. Anyone?

#2 I've noticed that since the start of the WoT, and not only with Iraq. I've no idea where Abu Zubaydah is, for instance. I suppose that's because if you don't know where they are, you don't know where to go to try to spring them.

I'd suggest we start the rumor they use them to make soup.

#5 WaPo had something the other day, on how theyve made reforms at Abu Graib and elsewhere in the Iraqi detentions system since the scandal broke, and how now theyve detained about 4000 (!!!!!) more in Fallujah and related operations, doubling the number of detainees, and yes, it will put the new, reformed, detention system to the test.

Iraqi detainees are held in Iraq. Some dispute as to whether foreign jihadis caught in Iraq can be sent overseas to the general WOT detention system (which consists of Gitmo, some unnamed detention centers - generally assumed to include Diego Garcia - and prisions in "friendly" arab states like Jordan)

Lesser folks are sent to the tender mercies of their home countries, Syria, Pakistan, Egypt, etc. Some of these countries are quicker to release than others.

#6 Why are they still "arresting" these qaqaa-heads? Drop them on the battlefield; saves time, money, and headaches with qaqaa-headed outfits like HRW and Amnesty Int'l.

#7 I like the idea of putting them into "undisclosed" locations away from Amnesty and Red Cross. I would prefer to drop them through the ceiling of al jizeeras tv studio. I just hope that we aren't catching and then releasing, repeat, repeat etc etc.
