#1 Damascus, Jan 15, IRNA -- A spokesman at the Syrian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Wednesday stressed that media reports on the exact official date for the visit by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Tehran `had not been accurate'. It had been earlier reported that Assad would visit Tehran later this week.
I read somewhere that Assad stayed in Syria because of the report that Russia had agreed to build a nuclear reactor for Syria. Something about the Syrian air defense being on full alert expecting a Israeli air strike. Must have been hiding in a bunker, somewhere.
