#3 Yes. But the Chinese (using French electronics) built them a highly redundant network, so there is probably a lot more rototilling to do.

#5 The Chinese could score themselves major points by slipping us the diagrams for any work they did for Saddam (if they haven't already). No one would have to know, we'd just say the info came from satellite recon or an Iraqi defector.

#6 There is precedent. I believe the Germans provided us with blueprints to the bunkers they built for Saddam prior to the Gulf War, but I do not have a link for it.
