#4 Here's the Al Guardian story (as of 8:16 GMT) - they indicate it was likely a meteor which didn't quite become a meteorite.

Just [insert diety of choice here] snapping her/his fingers. Prolly will result in a new religion or two, heh, but no shrine since it didn't hit the ground.
