#1 "About 15 [troops] came to my house and searched everything, looking for arms and asking if I knew any insurgents," an academic, Maher Dali, told Reuters

Academic, like in madrassah? Maybe Rooters should put scare quotes around "academic" like they do for "terrorists" insurgents.

#3 N.B.: If this is a second or third Division-sized exercise, then their status is boosted to a Corps exercise. The successful creation of an Iraqi "I Corps" would be a major milestone to Iraqi military self-sufficiency.

#4 Steve: "Sorry sir, but you'll have to come with us. We think 100,000 rounds is a bit much for personal use, even if you do have a wedding planned."

"Unless you work for the Iraqi government, of course. In that case, 100,000 rounds is kinda low. We'll have to dock your pay to augment your mini-arsenal to the required 200,000 rounds".

What is this, Frisco? I thought laws like that were restricted to idiotarian enclaves over here. Do we have liberal Democrats running the cities over there?

#16 20 or 30 rounds isn't enough. Couple hundred ought to be OK. AKs over there are about as common as 22s over here and 1000 rounds is a common quanity. I am thinking this guy had a full tin of 7.62X39 or something.
