#1 Sen. Carl M. Levin (Mich.), the ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, noted in opening remarks yesterday that governors are concerned about whether they will have National Guard units that can respond to natural disasters

Mr. Cueball Cover-Up Levin worries about natural disasters? How bout fightin' frickin' terrorists there so we don't face 'em here?

#4 Wonder if Levin considers another attack as a "natural disaster?" Much like I feel about the guys on the ground in Iraq (in a good way), I often wonder Where do we get guys like that (in a bad way for Levin and crew).

#5 More math: If 17 brigades equals 135,000 men, then an "average" brigade has 7,941.1765 men and/or women. We had 20 brigades during the elections, and now have 17, so we already have reduced troop strength by 23,823.5294 men and/or women. So either we had more than 140,000 there in January, or we have less than 135,000 there now.

Or, it is possible brigades are of slightly different sizes? In any event, don't tell Kennedy and/or Kerry that we have reduced troop strength! They'd want to send more and/or less, depending on ... oh, who knows?

#6 A brigade is about 3,500 troops, but double that once support troops (supply, maintenance, base security) are added. Same for a division that has about 15,000 troops will double to 30,000 when going into combat.
