#2 A "council flat" is usually restricted by government for welfare cases. I'm pretty sure it's not intended to be shared by four people if it's a one-bedroom flat.

All of the demons of the Welfare State are showing up.

#3 Unrelated but made me smile - on the subject of BBC London news' platitudes to the oppressed:

"And despite the grotesque slaughter occuring under the streets, we'll be devoting the majority of tonight's programme to asking Muslims in Neasden how upset, isolated and intimidated they feel in their community because fellow members of their religion have indiscriminately blown people up all over the capital."

Mick, Seamus and Paddy from Kilburn would have loved this kind of head-patting, reverse racism in the 70s and 80s.

#7 I was wondering when the connection to the Finsbury mosque would be made, as was for at least two of the 7/7 killers, and the purported mastermind, Haroon Rashid Aswat. Forget the white water rafting. It's the mosques, stupid.

#8 I've long thought that the whole "boys for pleasure, girls for offspring" approach has been a major factor in the cultures of the lands from Greece east to Arabia, compounded in the Muslim world by the greater or lesser popularity of polygamy that siphons marriageable females away from the youngest, most sexually desperate men. The key question to my mind, Ulereger Clavigum6227, is how we can use this to our advantage in fighting the war on terror? Psychoanalyzing the poor lads interesteth me not even a little bit.
