#1 Probably one of the biggest problems is that until this is over or at least close to getting over we wont get a clear body toll on how many were killed because of the hurricane and its flooding. CNN is still reporting roughly 70+ people so if this is true it'd be pretty much on the front pages come tomorrow morning.

#2 Hopefully, the thousands of bodies will be grossly exaggerated because many of them will have been have been dead and embalmed for years.

What do I mean? New Orleans buries its dead in mausoleums. Their cemetaries are all above ground because the city is below sea level. (Recall the movie "Easy Rider". Hopper and Fonda's characters and two prostitutes dropped LSD in one of those NO cemetaries.)

In the south, they embalmed the dead in the extreme. For instance, consider the case of a confederate colonel killed in the Battle of Nashville whose grave was robbed in 1977. Because he was well embalmed and smartly dressed for his funeral, the authorities thought Colonel Shy was a recent murder victim, not someone who died a violent death in 1864.

So, with all the debris damage from the flooding waters, some of the floating dead are just disgorged bodies from cemeteries. Creepy as that seems.

#4 it'll be the smell from attics that'll givem the bodies away, and no dead body easily migrates from tomb to attic
