#1 Slightly off topic;
I believe the commander sited - H.R. McMaster was the company commander leading a Cavalry Squadron during the battle of 73 Easting in the first Gulf War.

It's good to see he's still around with the cav.

I was there but not in his squadron - He was CPT McMaster back then, over in Second Squadron, 2ACR. Troop Commander (i.e. company commander), not a Squadron Commander (thats a LTC job).

A friggen dragoon for real. Good guy to have commanding the last heavy Armored Cavalry Regiment left in the active duty mix.

His guys had the hard point of contact at 73 easting agains the Tawaklana division.
