#2 I seem to recall that 2/3 of the total amount spent on health care for an individual is spent in the last two years of life.

#3 IIRC the amount I heard was that more was spent on the last six months of an individual's life than on the first 16 years. The former only bought 6 months. Spending more on the first 16 years would add significantly more.
