#2 This is awesome. May the anti-military greenies choke on it.

Thanks for yet another great article, Chuck.

#3 My writing for the last three days has been full of obvious mistakes. Jeez, one little TIA and things go all to heck.

Can't be the liquor. Or the drugs.

Since there are so few terrorist deaths to count, I've just lost my focus.

#4 No doubt we'll be getting more news from Afghanistan soon enough, Chuck... or elsewhere. In the meantime, enjoy the little break.

#5 Solar collector, my ass. The thing is obviously a battle laser for when They come back.

#6 I'm amazed it took them this long. A place like Area 51 should be off the grid so environmentalists and other wackos can't either cut off the power or figure out how much is used and when.

#7 Sue Charlton: He's got a knife.
Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee: [chuckling] That's not a knife.
Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee: [Dundee draws a large Bowie knife]
Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee: *That's* a knife.

#9 So it'll save $1M a year....
I gotta ask... how many $M did it cost to put up - including labor? Does that include the maintenance cost?

Unless of course it really is a battle laser in which case 'Cool!'.

#10 Very likely, although space-based domestic energy assets should not be discounted. Even here on Guam, at Nite one can VISUALLY see SPAWAR/SATWAR thingys adjusting their orbits or flying overhead, + ENERGY BEAMS/LINEAR FLOWS EMANATING FROM SOME, BUT NOT ALL, OF SAME. ALSO, USAF-DOD SATCOM-equipped/capable aircraft fly wid "AFSC" or "JSC", etc. markings which TMK is "AIR FORCE SPACE COMMAND" + "JOINT SPACE COMMAND".
