#3 At times like this, I wonder why not sustain the fight right there ? Let the Taliban think they are close to a stunning victory so they send in more ~~canon fodder~~ insurgents and milk this till the Talibunnies wise up ? As long as our boys can be resupplied and a reserve is ready to trump the play, prolong, prolong, prolong.
Or maybe that IS what happens and I'm too dumb to realize it.

#6 I'd imagine a Company 1stSgt there is right now chewing the ass of the platoon sergeant in charge of that devil dog. I'd also imagine the Company Commander similarly chewing the ass of the platoon commander in charge of that devil dog.

#7 Could this be one of those rare cases where the driver was saved because he didn't wear his seat belt "driver thrown clear of flaming car".

Could he have ducked fast enough to save himself with all his gear on? Odds are though, wear the gear.
