Steve, I think that's the price for a private industry converter box; the government issued converter boxes would be $120, at least. Extra overhead, you know.

#5 Why do we need that? Americans can upgrade on their own, and most already have.

That cost is for both hardware and the installation. The mismanagers of the city I live in have chosen the Fire Fighters to install the boxes at their normal Union wages. And thats after the city raised taxes double digits specifically saying that without the increase the Fire Department would no longer be able to operate at a safe level. Their justification dont worry itll be paid for by Federal revenue I shit you not!
