#2 The way to head it off is not to provide a rational argument. That really hasn't worked as effective as using the Donks own play book and scare the hell out of the gray hairs that they're going to be cut off from 'life saving' care. The Donks never cared about the truth, so why not just up them one. Sic a dog on a dog.

#4 Sounds very much like the Australian system, except there is no employer mandated insurance here. A good thing BTW.

The main problem apart from the cost is the system gets captured by provider special interest groups and special interest groups for fashionable (AIDS) and sexy (childhood cancers) diseases.

But such treatments are approved only if it can be shown they extend life by at least three months and are used for illnesses that affect fewer than 7,000 new patients per year.

And the person is a member of a protected group, or have the right outlook.

And no doubt illegal aliens would be covered in full at no cost.

#6 As an RN of 25+ years, and frequenter of Rantburg since '01, I really think an alternative to the current medical reimbursement should be introduced. I know that the current system is broken. Try something different. Hell, I even work for an insurance company....
