#1 how many companies with more than 100 employees doesn't grant any paid leave? The big jump is a week of paid leave for full OR PART-TIME employees with a year on the books. That's just plain Democrat policy stupid. Way to cull part-time worker jobs d*ckhead

#2 I can't think of a company that I've ever heard of that didn't offer at least two weeks paid vacation after a year. I know I've never worked for one.
Now if he wants it made mandatory for company provided cake and ice cream every Friday well, of course, I'd be all for that!

#3 A pol, "Florida Democrat", just trying to get money into the local coffers. Vacation, Florida, and Disney, what else is there needed to be explained. Google 'Americans don't take their vacation time' and you'll see it goes back a good deal of time. The old saying applies - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

#4 The better idea is to adopt the Mexican siesta idea; all employees would go home at lunch and sleep with your spouse for an hour. It leads to happiness and the building of maternity hospitals. All of that would be good for the economy.

#5 One of our businesses has exactly four employees who each receive 2 weeks paid vacation every year. Not great but it's pretty much the norm for small businesses in the area.

#6 He isn't talking about paid leave. He's talking about companies paying for a vacation package in addition to your paid leave. At least that is the implication I get from the poorly written article.

#7  "Honestly, as much as I appreciate this job and as much as I enjoy it, the best days of my life are and always have been the days I'm on vacation."

Perhaps the voters should give him a permanent one.

#8 What a flaming idiot.

Next I suppose he's going to require 4 day work weeks and no-more-than 8 hours per day.

Oh and as an amendment you can't quit your job, get fired, or get a promotion (ala - Atlas Shrugged).

#10 yep, let the popularity ideas begin...we should also have employer paid for: Free Taco Thursday, One paid speeding ticket clause (because the employee was late to work doncha know) & Hawaiian Shirt Friday. Heck, since employers are essentially pushed to provide health insurance why not car and home insurance as well?

#13 I clicked on the title hoping the source of the story was "The Onion", but I was saddened to see it was actually "Politco".

#14 Barbara, that is true, but...if the idjits in charge get what they want when they are done messing with the car companies...I'll feel safer riding a pony. :P
