Greece contributes 150,000 euro to PA

Bethlehem - Ma'an - The Government of Greece announced on Tuesday a contribution of 150,000 euro to help the Palestinian Authority settle debts to the private sector in the fields of security and the rule of law.

The contribution will be channeled through the European mechanism for support to the Palestinians, PEGASE, and centrally cover arrears relating to the purchase of vehicles for the use of the Palestinian police, a statement said.

The donation was the second from the Greek government since 2009, designated to cover costs relating to the purchase of police equipment.

The statement quoted Greek Consul-General Sotorious Athanassiou as saying "Greece is strongly committed to supporting the Palestinian Authority in its efforts to build strong and viable institutions. In this respect, the Security and Rule of Law sector is of particular importance, which is the reason of our country's contribution through the EU PEGASE mechanism."

The average American is paying 4.4% pa interest on a new housing loan (15 year term).

The US goverment is paying 3.8% pa interest (10 year term)

The German Government is paying 3.1% pa interest (10 year term)
