#2 updated version conflicts with my Zonealarm Firewall. Apparently McAfee is now designed to be so obnoxious and annoying that I get rid of my third-party firewall that's worked fine for years. Nice

#3 Tried Norton, Frank?

The most annoying thing I've noticed about Norton is it seems to scan pretty often, but not at any set schedule (which I guess is good).

#9 The virus signature file reported that svchost.exe was infected, and the program removed it. That file is a vital part of Windows XP and Vista systems. Lot's of people were affected. Call it an iatrogenic problem.

#10 i have contended for many years that having McAfee is worse than getting a virus. some virii do not harm your system, and most can be successfully removed.
