#2 Actually, the Norks have to worry about the Chinese doing an invasion if their situation falls apart. For years, the Chinese press has had stories about the Chinese kingdom a few hundred years ago that existed in what is now North Korea. That is relevant because that is the typical Chinese propaganda lead up to an invasion - see India and Vietnam.

#5 Ya know, we really ought to tell the Chinese that if they were to invade, we'd help them logistically after they crushed the Kim regime, and they would be welcome to any natural resources there for a few decades in payment for their troubles.
