#1 Why even bother?
I always looked at 'organic' products with a skeptical eye anyway.

#2 "Organic" food sells at a premium. No wonder it's being faked.

#3 Also Orgaic doesn not meazn healthy. First because intestinal cancers are at all times low because those horrible pesticides destroy the molds who caused them.

Second: Take a look at "bio-quality" fertirlizers and be afraid: bird sh.t is their main component and that is a vector for dangerous diseases and parasites. Don't tease me on debating about horse manure.

Third: In case orgnic fruits and vegetables taste better it is due to the varity or because they are planted more sparsely. NOT because there are organic.

In third world countries, it is often raw (not composted) human sh.t and is a vector for human diseases.

#5 JFM, horse manure is what I use but only after it's composted for a year.

#6 I thought organic just meant carbon-containing compounds of biologic origin - that would apply to all grown or raised food.

#7 I don't think they need inspectors to confirm that Chinese produce is organic. To my knowledge, night soil has been organic since the dawn of agriculture.

#8 The organic nature of Chinese produce is why you don't get too many salads comprised of raw produce in Chinese cuisine. Exterminating some of the added nutrients requires stir-frying at high temperatures, steaming or boiling.

Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciola_hepatica

Because my neighbors have a pony and a mare I use horse manure too. On potatoes. Then I cook the potatoes. Anyway you got the idea: Organic can be dangerous too.

#10 That's why I let it compost for a year.

#11 All parameters seem to fit The Religion of Peace like a giant Hogweed. And the in-organic ones are equally bad for one's health long-term.
