#1 So I really am at a loss here. The Britts said they should go to the US But an EU court says no, that the US will employ cruel and unusual punishment on them. So just who is running Britton? I'm confused. Christ, just let them go if they are harmless. Give them a house next to the EU Judges that thinks they are harmless.

#2 Britain wanted to become part of the EU inorder to form the greater European States, or some thing like that. This would imply giving up national interests and identity. Doesn't surprise me. What worries me more is I think Obama wants the US to follow.

I have to agree ..

There is a large undercurrent of feeling in the UK at the moment that we should re-write the UK Human Rights Act and pull out of Europe. In a few years I expect we will be the same old UK that most folk world wide knew to respect .

#8 This kind of sh$$ is just another piece of evidence that the European Union is a suicide pact. The failure to deal harshly with criminals, including a death penalty for repeat murderers and other societally dangerous habitual criminals, will only encourage lawlessness and loss of respect for the rule of law. What we're seeing in Europe is the result of fifty years of socialistic practices that lead to the destruction of state institutions and common sense. It's a disease that has been transmitted to the United States, and must be dealt with before it becomes fatal here as well. The way the US government addresses the southern border issue indicates the disease is well-established, and will take some serious medicine to eradicate.
