#1 Department of Homeland Security officials, who allowed the men to go on their way despite suspicious circumstances, concluded that the system worked.

The system worked? DHS would claim the system worked while the plane was going down. They would spin it that the plane had not yet crashed. Why don't they get someone in there to head up DHS who knows something about security instead of some political pogue? How about ex-military? Police? Border patrol?
