#1 Yeah, they're funded by drug-running to Iran...but more so from international zakat donations, esp. from Britain.

But, but, but esteemed NATO (paid) Coalition Partners, if we build you fancy, new brick office like those at Kandahar, give you Toyota NTV's to drive around the FOB, and pay your people 4 times their base salary for 90-120 day tours....... will you leave the FOB's and assist in the cross-border sancuary effort?

#3 I can't help thinking that if NATO really wanted to do something about drugs in Afghanistan they could damn well do it. I don't want to hear any more about how bad the Taliban and the Iranians are for selling drugs until NATO does something about the growers and their crops. The whole thing smells kinda fishy.
