#2 Probably too late to help the rebels. Maybe not too late for others tho. And my gut feel is that the timing is calculated for political advantage, not military effectiveness.

#5 He knows China will veto it - that there is no way the UN will authorize it. Why do we need UN approval anyway. Its nothing more than a way for him to say, "Let me be clear, I tried but, the UN said no."

#11 Couple of upsets at the UN vote, I can see Russia abstaining, expected China to veto but what the hell is up with Germany. Does Gadaffi have something on them, maybe the night club bombing came from the old East Germany - and the players are still around now high up in business and government.
