#1 If this is truly related to Indians and indigenous rights - then most likely the police will be released. The Mexican Govt can bargain in this situation. The local Indians in Mexico are at the bottom of the food chain in the economy, and they are really getting scre**d by the system. So you can't blame them for setting up roadblocks and trying to get some attention.

On the other hand, if the 62 police disappear for good - then you pretty much know it was a cartel that was responsible and not the Indians.
