#1 I remember George Burns and Gracie Allen, a married couple comedy team. At one time they were very popular on early television.

After Gracie died and George was up in his 90s someone asked about what he thought of all the sex and violence on TV. He responded: "At my age they are both the same.!" I'm beginning to get that joke.

#2 JQC, back when the Burns & Allen show was on she was the comedian and he was the straight man. When she passed he came out as a true comic genius. That was a looooong time ago, and yes, I get the joke too. 8^(

#3 Hey you guys are really making me scratch my gray matter. Vaudeville was in their time as with Abbot and Costello. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple performers of that time. They never stopped. It was their life to entertain. Gracie had such a voice in her routine. "Who's on First" was a husband wife act before the Costello's. Good old days were hard times.

#7 "George always ended his routine "'goodnight Gracie.'"

I loved it on their TV show when, at the end, he'd say, "Say goodnight, Gracie," and she'd say "Goodnight, Gracie." :-D
