#1 The irony is that Iran wouldn't exist in it's present form if the USA hadn't forced the Soviets to leave the northern third of Iran using the threat of nuclear attack, in the days prior to the Soviets getting the A-bomb.

#2 Iran is hardly alone. Not surprisingly, western 19th and 20th Century border and nation making interventions as well as current-day diplomacies, generally have lucrative financial reward hidden somewhere in their motivations. I'm very surprised Israel has exercise the level of restraint that it has. One of the added benefits of the BO regime's on-going row with Israel will be the convenient disassociation and handy condemnation when the IDF finally unleashes it's nuclear hell. The ultimate diversion and call for measure of extreme defense of the motherland.

#3 Nukes are so 20th Century. Now, designer (custom DNA) plagues, that's 21st Century. The wannabees are so focused on physics and engineering, they forget the biggest killers in history were and are disease based.

#7 Realistically, what could the Russians and/or Chinese do about it? What would they be willing to do in defense of the ayatollah? It's not an existential problem for them so would they really be willing to get into it? I'd go even further. I'd tell the Chinese that any kind of attack by their little cat's paw in North Korea will be treated as if it came from China.

But you're right about the Champ. He's gotten us into a state of financial ruin and moral decay that makes any effective action extremely difficult if not impossible. But he didn't do it without a lot of help from weak kneed RINOs.
