Photos show two men dressed in black with balaklavas covering their heads, and scary big black guns who drove up to the address in a neat black car. Not crazy. The question, I think, is: under orders, returned from abroad, or family tradition?

#11 At the shooting scene, the French police car windscreen had 10-12 bullet holes in a close pattern, possibly a burst from a range of 5-10 meters. Appears the police drove directly up on the event. Another policeman [possibly separate from the one's in the car] appears to have been approaching just down the sidewalk. The terrorists moved toward him to neutralize, prior to driving down the street making they getaway. My guess is this policeman was monitoring events and calling in the attack on a radio.

They wanted to go inside, to go upstairs. I entered the code.

"They fired on Wolinski, Cabu ... it lasted five minutes ... I sheltered under a desk... They spoke perfect French... claimed to be from al Qaida."

#14 Do French police patrol officers carry weapons? I know American ones do and British ones (generally) don't. I honestly don't know; that's why I'm asking.

In 1935, the French police used a variety of side arms, both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, notably comprising the MAS 1873, the MAS 1892, the FN M1900, Ruby pistols, and a variety of privately purchased weapons.

Immediately after the Second World War, a variety of military side arms was used, often captured weapons provided by the Army or French-produced German-designed weapons, such as the Mauser HSc or the Walther P38 for sidearms, and the Karabiner 98k rifle.

In 1951, a standardisation was performed on the RR 51 pistol[5] in 7.65mm, and on the MAS-38 and MAT-49 for sub-machine guns. From 1953, in the context of heightening violence of the Algeria War, CRS units were upgraded to the 9mm MAC Mle 1950

From the early 1960, large-caliber revolvers were introduced, culminating with the introduction of the Manurhin MR 73 and the Ruger SP-101. In the 80s, a process to standardize on revolvers was initiated. The 1970s also saw the introduction of assault rifles (SIG SG 543) to fend off heavily armed organised crime and terrorism.

In the 2000s, the police started switching to semi-automatic pistols and to the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. For some years, the standard sidearm in the French Police National and the Gendarmerie Nationale was the PAMAS G1, the French licensed-made. In 2003 both agencies made the biggest small arms contract since the Second World War[6] for about 250,000 SIG SIG Sauer Pro SP 2022, a custom-tailored variant of the SIG Pro, replacing the PAMAS-G1 and several other pistols in service. The weapons are planned to stay in service until the year 2022, hence the weapon name.

#18 French police carry sidearms. Don't know the exact model. At one point it was the Manurhin revolver and it was avertised as a "powerful" weapon . I don't know if they are still carrying it or have switched to pistols possibly firing lighter bullets but a revolver is no match against a Kalachnikov specially when the bad guys are wearing flight jackets.

These organizations are affiliated with OIC governments and OIC government regime elements.

What Charlie Hebdo did is a crime in all islamic states, in many states it carries the death penalty.

The islamofascistic terrorists did nothing but apply islamic law on french soil.

Anyone who wants to sincerely distance himself from this filthy treachery logically must also condemn the legal foundation of all OIC member states as criminal and inherently illegitimate.

That is something these islamic organizations will never do.
