#6 Taxi driver special interest group? Nannies and gardeners to the apparatchik wealthy interest group? And DC want's the equivalent of statehood representation. Do like they did to the original portion in Virginia, return all the non-federal land to the state. Let Maryland have the fun*. The original intent was to protect the nascent federal government form undue influence of the larger state governments. That's hardly an issue these days.

* it's not like there'll be any discernible change in the overall level of corruption and incompetence on either party's side.

Nah, I don't wonder why. The Democrats keep pushing the boundaries of voting. First, Slick Willie came up with the motor-voter law which allowed people with a driver's license to vote. The Donks have been screaming about the voter identification/verification laws the Pubs are putting in place state-by-state. Now, the Donks have pulled all the stops out and they want illegals to vote in our elections. It would guarantee a large block of new voters who would vote Democrat for decades to come. It would also be a quick path to national suicide.
