#1 The report also finds that the Saudis refused to cooperate with the US’s pursuit of Osama bin Laden because the Saudis feared retribution.

“[The] Saudis had stopped providing background information or other assistance on Bin Laden because Bin Laden had too much information about official Saudi dealings with Islamic extremists in the 1980s for Riyadh to deliver him into U.S. hands,” says the report, citing a CIA memo.

The "Saudi dealings with Islamic extremists in the 1980s"... a bit wobbly I'd say. After some reluctance and obvious discomfort, perhaps someone decided to simply quit asking questions. My emphasis added.
